What content can I access with a BSAVA membership?
As a BSAVA member you will (depending on member category) have access to the BSAVA Small Animal Formulary, CPD Webinar Library, Client Information Leaflets, Companion and many Congress lectures. You will also receive five library passes on becoming a member which can be used to access manual chapters or other content from across the library. See the below ‘How To’ video for more information.
What do the different padlocks mean?
An open padlock indicates content which you have access to. A green open padlock indicates free content, orange indicates content which you have access to through your membership and a purple padlocks shows content which you have purchased. If there is not an open padlock next to a piece of content then you do not have access and you may need to log-in.
There is a piece of content which I would like but I can’t get access. What do I do?
If there is no open-padlock symbol next to the content, this usually means you do not currently have access. You can use the ‘Buy online access’ button to buy an individual chapter/item or a book (which gives access to all the chapters). If you have library passes available, click on the ‘Use pass’ button to get immediate access to the content (see this 'How to' video for more information on using library passes). If you are an institutional or practice user you may need to contact the account holder to see if the content can be added to your subscription.
I attended Congress can I access the lectures?
If you have attended BSAVA Congress, whether you are a member or not, you will be given access to lecture recordings once they are available in the BSAVA Library.
What’s a library pass? How do I use it?
Library passes can be used exchanged for access to any particular piece of content on the BSAVA Library. Five passes are given to BSAVA members when they first login and members recieve a significant discount on any further passes which they buy. Additional passes can be purchased here . To see how to redeem a pass watch the video below.
Please note, passes cannot be used to access Formulary or Poisons entries or Client Information Leaflets.
I have already bought the print book, why can't I access the online version?
Unfortunately it is impractical to provide access to online versions to everyone who has previously bought print manuals. However, newly published books include codes in the printed version that provides a discount on access to the online version.
Can I buy a set of manuals?
Yes, we have a number of manual packs set up on our collections page that include a significant discount. Please note that your access will include the manuals that are in the pack at the point of purchase - if new editions or new titles are added later, you will need to purchase them separately.
How do I view my purchases?
You can use the ‘My BSAVA Library content’ section of 'My BSAVA Library Account' to view your purchased content and orders, and check how many downloads are left on your BSAVA Library pass (login required).
Can I get access for everyone in my practice?
A number of options are available to provide access to all or selected manuals for your practice staff. See our practices page for more information or contact us to discuss options for a practice or group level account.
Can I get access to everything in the BSAVA Library?
If you are a BSAVA member you already have access to virtually everything in the Library, except for the manuals and other books that are not member benefits. To gain access to the manuals you could purchase the manual pack and then buy future new titles as they are published. Alternatively, purchase a BSAVA Library pass and you can access any chapter you need. Once the Pass has been used up, simply purchase another. We are happy to consider different purchasing options so please contact us with your feedback.
