 Bruce Vivash Jones looks back at the career development of Aleen Cust who was a trailblazer to the many women who have now entered the profession, and is fondly remembered in this tribute article commemorating her centenary year.

 Professor Clare Rusbridge of Wear Referrals and the University of Surrey has been a recipient of many PetSavers grants. Her most recent was for the undergraduate project Cytological and MRI evaluation of the soft palate and tonsils in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with Chiari-like malformation.

A strong veterinary association is the cornerstone of a dynamic and collaborative veterinary community. This, in turn, benefits not just its members but also the wider population and the companion animals that share their lives. This core belief of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) underpins one of its most successful projects, its ‘One Care Initiative’.

Pet owners may no longer have to choose between keeping their animal or having a roof over their heads when moving into rented properties with ‘no pets’ policies, the Society for Companion Animal Studies annual conference was told in September. John Bonner reports…
