A greater understanding of the relationship between cats and their owners/carers, the environments in which they inhabit, including the food they eat and their interactions with other animals, could help us provide better care for cats and improve the human–animal bond. Dr Sam Jack from the Bristol Cats Study explains the launch of this wide-ranging research and how it has developed over the last 14 years.
