Abstract
Small scale poultry keeping has increased dramatically and keepers often view their poultry as pets. However, irrespective of the purpose for which poultry are kept, they are technically farm animals and food-producing animals and this has implications for the use of medicines and disposal after death. Self-assessment questions are included.
Last updated August 2024 to reflect changes in the Veterinary Medicines Regulations (VMR). Changes are highlighted in blue in the PDF version.
