Abstract
This procedure is employed to collect urine directly from the bladder and for decompression of a severely distended bladder pending urethral catheterization.

Procedure video: Cystocentesis
This video shows how to collect urine from the bladder using cystocentesis. Please note that, for filming purposes, this procedure was performed on a cadaver. Appropriate aseptic techniques should be employed when performing this procedure.
