Abstract

This chapter focuses on gastrointestinal tumours in dogs and cats, specifically gastrinomas, glucagonomas, pancreatic polypeptidomas and carcinoid tumours. These tumours originate from cells known as APUD cells that produce and metabolize biogenic amines and peptide hormones. The chapter discusses the clinical features, diagnosis, diagnostic imaging, treatment and prognosis for each type of tumour.
