Abstract

The thyroid and parathyroid glands are a significant cause of disease in both the dog and the cat. This chapter covers anatomy and function, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the thyroid and parathyroid glands that require surgery. : Feline thyroidectomy (modified extracapsular); Feline thyroidectomy (modified intracapsular); Canine parathyroidectomy.
